KILO ‘I wish to communicate with you’

KILO - I wish to communicate with you

Dance and installations in Son

Curated by Ingvild Isaksen and Masako Matsushita

Garntørka is located at Sonskilen Marina which Sånafest transforms into a unique stage having the sea as an endlessly moving backdrop. This is where the boats rest throughout the winter until they are ready to be released in to the Oslo Fjord and further into the many seas of the world, travelling from land to water constantly crossing borders. We have let ourselves get carried away by this inspiring life of the boats, giving you a taste of different landscapes and cultures for this very special evening in the harbour of Son.

This evening has been named KILO 'I wish to communicate with you' which refers to the international maritime signal flag K. The signal flags function as a way to communicate across languages at sea. At Garntørka on the very border of the sea we wish to communicate through the visually nonverbal language of dance as well as initiate experiences where the bodies and minds of the spectator can be activated.

On the 23rd of June you can experience the idyllic everyday landscape of Son be transformed with movements, sounds and installations to give you another perspective on these common surroundings.

Starting at 17:00 with Borrowed landscape by Avdal and Shinozaki at KIWI where you can come and go as you like until 19:00. Avdal and Shinozaki’s inventive, subtle and often humorous interactions with the confined space of a grocery shop, their slightly exaggerated movements and the ingenious soundscapes by Fabrice Moinet, insert poetry into those spaces that define our personal and professional lives.

The audience is then invited to stroll over to the harbour by Son Kystkultursenter where Radio Såna is recorded live between 18:00 and 19:00. This is also the place to meet in order to enter Garntørka. We will transport you there by boat between 19:00 to 19:30.

The program of at Garntørka presents three international works.

The audience can enter when they wish between 19:00 to 19:30 for the first piece called LAND SKAP by A MasIng Productions (IT/JP/NO) as it is a durational dance/visual/audio installation.
